Making Money Online Is Easy…. If You Don’t Fail

Filed under: blogging

By: Leighton James

Do You Often Ask Yourself This Question?
"Can I Really Make Enough Money Online To Quite My Full-Time Job?"

The answer is without a doubt YES! (You just have to have the right knowledge)

To all the new people on the internet whether you be work at home moms, or internet marketing or web entrepreneurs, making money online will seem like a daunting task at first. There is SO much information out there. And to be honest many people making money online found there own way to success, and they’ll be damned if they tell you exactly what they did. In the words of wisdom : "There are 2 key principles to success"

1. Don’t Tell Everyone Everything You Know.
2. …?

These principles ring true to success online. Hell, I would not be where I am today if i shared everything i know. But what I will Share, will be everything YOU need to know to be able to HELP yourself. I’ll give you the tools to success, now… BUILD IT.

With that said, here are the main reasons(in my opinion) as to why most people fail when tryin to make their internet dream come true.

  1. People Don’t Know What They Want
    You’ve seen the numerous ads on the internet, "GET RICH-QUICK" " MAKE MONEY ONLINE THE EASY WAY" "QUIT YOUR JOB, LOSE THE BOSS"
    There are 2 problems here, There is no such thing as get rich quick, you have better chances if you play the lottery. Problem number two is that "rich" is not a goal which is defined. Your mind needs a clear, specific goal in order to succeed. In essence, how do you accomplish what you want, if you don’t know what you want to begin with?
  2. People Don’t Think Big
    If you are going to think, why not think big? If you set your goals to only 20 – 30$ a day, what’s stopping your from making 200-300$ a day? DON’T SELL YOURSELF SHORT Think big and accomplish a bit of your dream at a time and STOP thinking small and accomplishing your whole dream, because where is there to go from there?
  3. People Try To Do Everything At Once
    This is quite normal, there are so many opportunities out there, that it becomes difficult to concentrate on one. ALL of these opportunities promise you money, and Some of them do in fact keep their promise. But there are only 24 hours in a given day. So do your research, pick 1-2 of the best opportunities and work your butt off to promote them. Once your being to make a steady auto-pilot income with those, THEN you can move onto other things.

Remember these tips, and you will achieve success beyond your wildest dreams.

Sometime Adsense is stupid…

Filed under: adsense

I make revenues from AdSense at a very high click-through rate. I experience high click-through rates with AdSense without resorting to questionable tactics like tricking site users with photos. AdSense isn’t the unstoppable revenue engine for every eBusiness. Before I am taken out and flogged by the eCommerce pundits—please let me explain what I mean in my defense. So my perspective is from one who has made decent income from AdSense to fund aspects of his business like advertising seminars— and outsourcing to his virtual assistants. Yes, AdSense is a legitimate and significant revenue source. However evaluate AdSense with some type of balance. But there are obvious and not so obvious times not to use AdSense ads on your sites. Let’s list – examine – and explain them below.

  1. On Sales or Mini-sites This is a no-brainer. If you are trying to sell a particular product that is important to your bottomline, you don’t want AdSense ads distracting your customers from either joining your email list, or hindering your site’s online sales process. However I do see hybrid sites that are mini-sites or full scale eCommerce sites, with AdSense at the bottom of their pages. This might not be so bad since only 1% – 15% of your site visitors will either buy from you or fill out a form. The thinking with this approach is you might as well make money from disinterested parties using up your server’s bandwidth.
  2. SEO Business Sites If your livelihood depends on search engine optimization or marketing for a living you might want to think twice about displaying AdSense Ads on your site. I can tell you this from personal experience. I once was on top of MSN for search engine marketing in my local area. I concentrated on my local area because I found people felt more comfortable hiring an eCommerce consultant locally. I analyzed all the top ranking sites in MSN and noticed the only difference between me and the other top ranking sites was I had Google AdSense ads on my site. Someone at MSN felt that my AdSense ads, and perhaps to a less extent, my book on SEO, was getting a free ride in the MSN search engine database. In fact I noticed that there were no sites with AdSense ads for at least the first 3 pages. Plus the sites with AdSense were only using 1 ad unit at the bottom of the home page (there were very few of them in the top 5 pages). I knew it was strange to not have AdSense ads on the top Internet marketing sites. This prompted me to scan other industries where I noticed the same trend. Many of the leading SEO gurus have sites that have been banned from the top listings by the search engines. It seems the more visible you become, the more of a target your sites are to the search engine auditors. Let’s face the facts. MSN and Yahoo! have competing ad networks to Google’s, and this competitive situation is rife for a potential backlash against SEO sites with AdSense ads. Many SEOs will point to exceptions to this position. However you have been warned! Think about it, how long will MSN and Yahoo! sit back and watch SEO driven websites use their search indexes to fund Google? Did you know SEO in MSN and Yahoo(!)—- is much easier to obtain. Therefore optimized sites are creating an ad sales wealth transfer from MSN and Yahoo into the pockets of Google! It won’t be long before Yahoo! and MSN begin to devalue ranking on AdSense sites in their databases—if not outright ban them. If you are in the search engine business stay search engine neutral, or create multiple sites for different search engines.
  3. When AdSense Becomes Your Only Business Model I don’t know if your realize it or not, but the sites making the real big AdSense money usually have a following that doesn’t depend on the search engines. Internet mavens like Chris Pirillo or Joel Comm have been on the Internet a while and have followings for their websites. Therefore they can consistently make six figures with AdSense. These content powerhouses are an asset to Google and not the other way around. If you do a search on most keywords you will notice many of the top ranking sites are news sites, .gov sites, or .org sites these days. The only exception is in industries where these sites don’t really exist like eCommerce industries (clothing, shopping, etc.). An IPO based on projections of AdSense revenue isn’t in the future for the average eBusiness. Think of Google AdSense as supplemental income. Building a business solely on AdSense revenue isn’t just silly —it’s just plain stupid.

Traffic Course, What….Of course It is Free!!

Filed under: autoresponder

Autoresponder is very similar to a mailing list. But its aims and functioning differ.
Mailing list is used to send the messages to its subscribers; autoreposnder GATHERS subscribers and then sends them messages.

So, you submit your name and email to subscription form of the autoresponder. You get free updates, and web site gets your name and email to the base of subscribers. Having your name and email, good marketers will find useful products and services to offer you in future. This is when web site is starting to get lifetime customer value from its visitors.

Internet marketing has time-proven tool that catches targeted visitors on your web site and transform them into loyal clients. This tool is known as autoresponder.

For example, you got to the web site about University scholarships, and you are not ready to buy anything from this web site right now. But you see a pop-up window or subscription form saying something like, “Sign up here to get free and fresh updates on new scholarship programs”. Hm, you start thinking. If you are a targeted visitor and feel motivated to get a scholarship, you will surely subscribe to free updates about new scholarship programs.

Online statistics shows that about 10 from online visitors make immediate purchase on the web site. Other 90 of visitors may leave your web site forever, without making any purchase. Do you want to lose 90 of web site visitors that were driven with so many efforts?

But be careful: do not terrorize your subscribers with useless offers. Otherwise they will unsubscribe from your list, and you will lose them forever.
The benefits of using autoresponder are evident: you do not visitors from your web site, you grow your base of subscribers and clients, you can motivate your subscribers and client to get more targeted for your offers. Plus, autoresponder automates the whole process of gathering the names and emails from your subscribers, saving them into a database, emailing them under the set delivery schedule, transferring the clients from one base to another, etc.

DIFFERENT WAYS TO MAKE MONEY WITH AUTORESPONDERS

Using autoresponder you can:

  1. Generate more upsells – if your products/services have updates and upgrades, autoresponder will help you to motivate clients for buying the update or upgrade.
  2. Sell your own products and services more effectively.
  3. Get more re-orders from your clients – if you sell something which needs ordering from time to time (health products, movie tickets), the autoresponder will keep in touch with your clients.
  4. Create cross-sells – you can sell any complimenting products and services that have any relation to the major offer on your web site. Thus you give a bigger collection of offers, help your joint-venture partners to make more money and get your commission from it. And you have all rights to ask your partners for the same favor: sell something on their web site. In any case, you make more money.
  5. Minimize refunds – when your customer gets more and more info that explains the real benefits and advantages of the offer bought from your web site, this client has less and less desire to ask money back.
  6. Recruit and train affiliates – autoresponder is a perfect tool for educating and motivating your subscribers. They get more info with each new message, and you increase your web site credibility.
  7. Ask for feedback from your clients – make it a usual practise to ask your clients once a month what they need from your web site. You do not even imagine how many good ideas they will give you for free.

WHAT FEATURES SHOULD A GOOD AUTORESPONDER HAVE?

You can use the maximum profits from marketing potential of autoresponder, only when this autoresponder has the following features:

  • you can get unlimited number of autoresponders;
  • you can add new autoresponders or edit the existing ones;
  • you can choose and set up the mailing list to save the subscribers of your autoresponder (the system will save new subscribers to any mailing list you wish);
  • you can program autoresponder by days, scheduling to send its messages the way you wish;
  • you can make autoresponder messages in TXT and HTML formats, and add attachments to them (audio or even vide files);
  • you can use a huge collection of macros elements to highly personalize your autoresponder messages;
  • you can get full statistics about sent messages, new subscribers, unsubscribed users of autoresponder;
  • you can import and export the subscribers to any base, or save them in a separate file.

Affiliate Marketing vs. Google Adsense

Filed under: adsense

Google Adsense

How do you like the idea of earning money without dealing with customers or answering emails. This is possible when you run a Google Adsense site. With Adsense sites, you can have a virtual passive-income that requires little maintaining. But is this the best option for an online business?

Here are the positives of Google Adsense sites:

  • They are perfect for people who run information sites that have no related affiliate product
  • You can set it and leave it. With Google Adsense, you can create a content page, and there is little need to update the content.
  • Adsense sites are easy to scale. Since they require little upkeep, you can easily create multiple websites that each make a nice income.

Here are the negatives of Google Adsense sites:

  • They are not a great long term solution. Instead of getting your visitors to subscribe to a mailing list, you are focusing on getting people to click on ads. Real online businesses concentrate on building assets that can use for long-term growth.
  • These sites are dependent on search engines. Most Google Adsense sites make the mistake of depending on search engines for the majority of their traffic. If the SE algorithms change then your income might drop significantly.

Affiliate Marketing

Being an affiliate marketer is great for those who want build a theme site. With this type of business, you can easily create web pages around a topic and get people to buy products through your products. If done correctly, you can easily build a loyal following that will help you make money for years to come.

But can affiliate marketing make you more money then Google Adsense?

Here are the positives of affiliate marketing:

  • A great advantage of affiliate-marketing is that you can build a long term business that will bring in a revenue stream for years.
  • With affiliatemarketers you need to focus on building an email list. This list is a major asset of your business. Every time you have an offer, you can go to your list and increase your profits..
  • Unlike Google Adsense sites, which only concentrates on high paying keywords, an affiliate marketing site can be centered on a topic that you have an interest in.

Here are the negatives of affiliate marketing:

  • You have to learn how to write persuasively and get people to purchase the product that you are recommending. For many people this is a difficult skill to learn.
  • Each affiliate marketing site requires a lot of effort. You must spend a lot of time writing product reviews, building your email list and creating web content.

So which is better: Affiliate marketing or Google Adsense?

The answer is that both are great solutions for an online business. Instead of choosing one over the other, you should create websites that can take advantage of both.

Here is how you can do this:

  1. Create a content site on a topic that you are interest in, while paying a good amount per Adsense click.
  2. Integrate your Adsense into the menu bars and the top of your web content.
  3. Add web pages for affiliateproducts and your opt-in email list. But, make sure that you leave out the Adsense blocks on these pages. This way you are ensuring that you are building your long-term assets.
  4. Create optimized web page articles that focus on a specific keyword phrase. Place your Google Adsense in these blocks.
  5. Provide your email list with good content and product recommendations. Once in awhile, email your list and provide a link to some of your web articles. That way, you can earn a little bit of m*ney from your subscribers while giving them good content.

By focusing on both affiliate products and Google Adsense, you will be building both short-term and long-term profits.

Golden Opportunity or Waste of Time?

Filed under: affiliate

Now that the idea of doing business over the internet has been firmly established, many potential internet businessmen are searching for the best way to do business. Usually the choice comes down to whether you want to set up your own business and online store, or sign up for an affiliate program.

First of all, let’s define what we mean by an affiliate program. An affiliate program is basically an internet business set up by someone else. They could be selling physical goods, education, information or any other products that can be sold online. By signing up as their affiliate, you are helping them promote their business or store. In return, they will pay you a commission for each sale you bring them. The amount of commission varies between different affiliate programs.

  1. EARNINGS
    So how does an affiliate program differ from starting your own online store? Let’s start by looking at the potential earnings. (After all, the main reason everyone wants to start an internet business is for the money). When you sign up for an affiliate program, you will be paid a commission for each sale you refer to the online store. This commission can range from 5% to 15% for physical products, and possibly up to 50% or more for virtual products such as subscriptions and ebooks.
    On the other hand, if you start your own store, your profit can be much higher. For virtual products, your profit can be 100% of your selling price. After all, once the newsletter or ebook is created, you do not need to spend any more effort. When someone buys your ebook, they just download it from your website. If you are selling a physical product, your profit depends on whether you are manufacturing the product yourself, or buying from a wholesaler or dropshipping company. Your profit in this case could easily be more than 40% or 50%.
    So, if you only consider the potential earnings, starting your own business is more lucrative than joining an affiliate program.
  2. LOGISTICS
    However, money isn’t everything (Or so they say). When you are starting your own internet business, there are a number of logistic issues you need to look at. Here are a few things you would need to take care of :
  • Create your website
  • Design your product (if you are selling new products)
  • Create your product (if you are selling new physical products, or any virtual products)
  • Set up an online store
  • Set up a merchant account or payment gateway
  • Set up a warehouse or storage space (if you are selling physical products)
  • Have procedures and staff ready to fulfill orders
  • Set up an affiliate program to get others to market the products for you
  • Monitor for fraud
  • Monitor stock levels
    As they say, "No pain, no gain". Having your own store pays very well, but requires a substantial time investment from you.
    On the other hand, if you sign up for an affiliate program, all you need to do is set up a website to promote the program. All the ads, banners, marketing text etc will be provided to you by the affiliate program. Your only responsibilities would be to get people to visit your website, and hopefully click on the affiliate links to buy the products that you are promoting.
  • CONVERSION
    Whether you have your own business or are promoting an affiliate program, the bottom line is the conversion rate, or the percentage of visitors that actually buy something from you. A number of factors influence this conversion rate. Factors as quality of the product, quality of the website, customer support are all important. However, I personally believe that the most important factor is trust.
    When a potential customer arrives at your website, he will need to trust your site enough for him to be willing to buy from you. After all, on the internet you are just a faceless salesman. He doesn’t know who is actually running the site and whether he will actually get the goods that he orders.
    Having said that, one of the key methods of garnering trust is by recommendation and referral. If a store is being referred to or recommended by another website, the potential customer will feel that the store is trustworthy. After all, if the store is not trustworthy, why would the other website recommend it?
    This is where affiliate programs shine. When you refer a potential customer to the store for which you are an affiliate, the customer will feel more relieved, since the store is being recommended by your site, a 3rd party. The customer will be more likely to buy from the store, benefiting both the store, and you as well.
    There are both pros and cons to joining an affiliate program. You might earn less with an affiliate program compared to starting your own store, but I believe the benefits of not having to be responsible for the logistics makes affiliate programs are very viable "passive" source of income.
